Presidents Test
1/2 mile & 1 mile run 4th, 5th, 7th Thursday May 24 (rain date May 31)
6th, 8th Tuesday May 22 (rain date May 29)
4th grade: Sam, Ronnie, Joseph W.Meara, Meghan, Emily, Angelina, Samantha , Sara. (4th graders are running 2 laps, 1/2 mile)
5th grade: Danae, Emily , Natalie , Nina , Nicholas .
6th Grade: Brianna, Mya, Victoria, Michaela,
7th grade: Gillian, Racquel, Tianna, Brooke,
8th grade: Karissa, Alissya S, Hanna, Alyssa C, Kiley, Michelle, Ahna, Ava, Marcel, Marc, Matt B, Cole, Jimmy,
Students in bold qualify for the Presidential Fitness test. remaining students qualify for the National Fitness test. All students are encouraged to run their personal best.

Grades 4-8 participate
1. Curl-ups: Objective: To measure abdominal strength /endurance by maximum number of curl-ups performed in one minute.
2. Shuttle Run: Objective: To measure speed and agility
3. Pull-ups: Objective: To measure upper body strength/endurance by maximum number of pull-ups completed.
Or Right Angle Push-ups: Objective: To measure upper body strength/endurance by maximum number of push ups completed.
Or Flexed-Arm Hang: Objective: To maintain flexed-arm hang position as long as possible. Alternative to pull ups or right angle push ups for National Awards. Students who cannot do one pull-up may do the flexed arm hang in order to qualify for the National Fitness Awards. To qualify for the Presidential Award, students are required to do pull-ups or right angle push-ups.
4. V-Sit Reach: Objective: To measure flexibility of lower back and hamstrings
Students that pass the first 4 tests @ the 50% mark or above will participate in the 1/2 or 1 mile run in May.
5. Endurance Run/Walk: Objective: To measure heart/lung endurance by fastest time to cover a one-mile distance or ½ mile distance based on age.
