PE Update

Grades 3 & 5 were fortunate to be able to have P.E. outside on Friday.

Grade 3 played kickball and 4 square. I was the pitcher and we played 3 outs. They played well and with good sportsmanship. 4 square was available while they were waiting to kick. I always like to keep them moving!

Grade 5 played  4 square,  lacrosse or kickball. Some of the students playing lacrosse realized the tennis ball was not so easy to catch or throw with a lacrosse stick!  We’ll keep working on that skill!

Grades 6 & 7th had health on Friday. They received a homework assignment to record their resting heart rate. This data will be used to calculate their training heart rates during exercise.

PE Update March 2010

PreK -3rd grade have continued to improve their jumproping skills.  We have also  added hopscotch, balance beam and hurdles.

Grades 4 & 5 have been learning how to bump in volleyball, jumping hurdles and are involved in other  fitness stations including sit-ups, wall sits and running the bleachers.

Grades 6,7,8 have been playing volleyball to prepare for the Spike out Hunger games on Holy Thursday. The school now offers a middle school volleyball team which is great for classes because now more students have an interest and understanding of the game.
